Our goal at Atelier Jalaper is not only to offer an innovative and unique concept. We unite the skills, know-how and passion involved in the Swiss watch industry and the automobile to offer timepieces full of history and emotion. Each of our watches incorporates a dial taken and produced from an authentic legendary car. Discover our first limited edition collection of 600 pieces and dive into the heart of watchmaking and classic automobiles. After a year of R&D, Atelier Jalaper has accomplished a real technical challenge. Our mission: to create a watch that offers its owner a fragment of an automotive legend. This is not just a figure of speech. Each Atelier Jalaper watch physically and visibly integrates an authentic part of an Aston Martin DB5.
History of Atelier Jalaper
Founded in 2019
In 2019 we presented Atelier Jalaper on Kickstarter. Our successful campaign enabled us to collect the necessary funds to launch the brand, test our idea and ensure that our watches honored the legendary Aston Martin DB5, with all the required rigor and commitment to excellence as expected by our passionate community. As of 2020, the Atelier Jalaper engine is running at full speed and providing our customers with the choice out of 4 models in our first series! This would not have been possible without the support and help of the people who were with us since the launch of our Kickstarter campaign. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all of them. When conceptualizing this newfound project, it became clear from the start that only a true icon could lie at the foundation of these first series. The choice fell upon the timeless and iconic Aston Martin DB5. This model of the British make, of which only 1021 examples were produced from 1963 to 1965, was elevated to the rank of a legend, thanks in particular to a certain James Bond. Our watches are the result of the joined forces of a Franco-Belgian entrepreneurial tandem, a French designer and Swiss manufacturers. The ambition of offering a unique timepiece and to take part in the development process convinced big players in la Chaux-de-fonds. Indeed, the Swiss craftsmen had to flatten the bonnet without compromising the original color, cut out 600 dials with the utmost precision in spite of the malleability of the aluminum, and obtain a result that could withstand the test of time.
